Global Energy’s commercial and project management teams are highly experienced in working in partnership with developers to identify the best solutions, deliver on budget to tight schedules, while maintaining the highest safety and quality standards.
Since GEG took over Nigg in October 2011, they have spent £15m on upgrading the site and a further £15m on phase one of the new deep water quayside which is due for completion in March 2015. Already leading the field in this sector by building a number of wave and tidal generation devices, we were also responsible for the successful assembly, erection and loadout of some of the world’s largest offshore wind turbines for the Beatrice offshore wind demonstrator project off the east coast of Scotland. Global Energy completed in July 2014, the lattice section for the Moray Firth Met Mast and carried out logistical support for both the Moray Firth and Inch Cape masts at Invergordon. The masts were loaded out in September 2014.
Global Energy have been awarded the GBS foundations work for the Meygen tidal project in the Pentland Firth, up to six units, for delivery mid 2015 onwards. This will be the world’s largest commercial tidal array to date, once constructed in 2015/16.
